In this article, you can read about how you can register deviations and why you should do it.
Since the employer has the overall responsibility for ensuring that laws, regulations and rules for HSE are followed, this also means having a system in place to deal with deviations. This also means that deviations are actually registered, and ensure that the system is used. Deviations can be easily registered by all employees in the Grønn Jobb HSE system.
What is a deviation?
Deviations are, in general, events that fall outside what is considered normal. Within health, environment and safety, we classify all unwanted incidents, which can lead to or have led to damage, as a HSE deviation. This can be damage to people, material or the environment.
If an incident violates the regulations for health, environment and safety, or internal regulations, then we count this as a deviation. Typical examples could be that employees are missing or have worn out protective equipment, or suffer a work-related injury. Equally, the causes of near misses must also be registered as deviations, so that the employer can find and improve the risks before accidents occur.
How deviations can be registered
Deviations can be registered by all employees both in the mobile app and on the web. To do so on the web, go to the menu option Deviations, click on "New" and choose whether it is a deviation or a suggestion for improvement to be registered. Then fill in the information required.
To register a deviation in the app, select HSE at the bottom of the menu and then Deviations. Here you can see the deviations and improvement suggestions that you have registered, sorted by status. When you click on the green button, you can register a new deviation or improvement suggestion. If you are on the page for deviations, this is what you will register when clicking the green button, and if you are on the page for improvement suggestions, that is what you will register.
When you have finished and click on "Finish", the deviation will be visible in the list of your registered deviations, and will have the status "New". When you finalize a deviation, a notification is sent to the administrator and possibly also the safety representative and deviation responsible if these are registered in the system.
As long as the status is still "New", you can delete the deviation, but when the deviation is worked on, the status will be changed to "In progress" and then you will no longer be able to delete it. Only you who registered the discrepancy can delete it.
