How do I transfer rest vacation?

Read about how you can transfer vacation days from one year to another.

Both employer and employee have a duty to ensure that the statutory vacation is taken during the year. If the employee has not used up all the vacation days, the Act relating to Holidays enables the employer and employee to agree in writing to transfer up to 2 weeks of statutory vacation to the following vacation year.

If an employee is to transfer vacation days, this can be done in the system by the team manager or administrator. These have a menu option called Rest vacation under Calendar, which is not available to users with the employee role. By clicking here, you get an overview of your employees' vacation days, how many they have used and how many they have left for the year.

Under Actions, you can click on the "Transfer" icon for the employee you want to transfer vacation for. By doing this, all of the available vacation days the employee has to their credit will be transferred over to the next year. When this has been done, the icon will be disabled and the number in the "Vacation days available" column will be set to 0. Now the employee will no longer be able to register vacation this year.

The employee can see how many days they have transferred in their personal calendar by clicking on Vacation days left in the box on the right. This page is also available to administrators and team managers, who can see the calendar of their employees.

Team managers and administrators also have access to the Balance page. Here, the transferred days will be visible in the column called "Transferred days", in the tab for next year.
